(better photos to follow on completion of works) Attic bedroom. A ridge roof light brings in good quantities of light, while the roof windows give views and ventilation. The door placed centrally to the room gives an axial view through to arrow window in gable with views to the north. The new attic stair follows the pattern of the original stair below. The new steel stair is visually lighter than the original stone stair. Timber treads make the stair more tactile. The timber lining follows the oval geometry of the stair. Relocating the the sink away from the window allows the table to be set closer to the light. The liner arrangement makes most of the limited space. The clean lines allow the character of original house to come through.
